Years 5 and 6

Welcome to Class 5 – the Processing Pandas! Read our blog by clicking here!
In class 5 the children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and learners, achieving high standards through exploring, analysing and creating. This is why we have chosen the name of the Processing Pandas – we will take in new information and then using our thinking skills, decide upon the best way to use it.
The Year 6 children take responsibility around the school including monitor jobs to help the school run smoothly, lead games with the younger children at playtime and could even be elected as house captain. They set the example to the other children.
PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure that the children have the correct kit on these days. Also, the children will need their trainers in school for the daily mile.
Spellings will be given for the children to learn on a weekly basis. Other homework set will include reading, maths using mymaths and also a half termly project grid based on our topic.
This term our topic is “Ancient Egypt”, where we will be learning about the history of Ancient Egypt, some of its key figures and the impact that they had on our world.
As ever, I operate an open door policy, please come and speak to me about any aspect of your child’s education. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
