In Class 4, we have a mixture of Year 4 and Year 5 children, all of which are challenged at the appropriate level. I am delighted to be Class 4’s new teacher and I am really looking forward to the rest of the year.  In class, I will be placing a strong emphasis on the Growth Mindset approach as part of our whole school values. I actively encourage children within Year 4 and 5 to build on their independence, by encouraging them to think for themselves and to take responsibility for their personal organisation.

Home learning is actively encouraged with the practising of times tables on TTRockstars, spellings on Spelling Shed and Maths activities on MyMaths. Regular reading is also essential for children to further extend their vocabulary and to experience a range of writing styles and genres. In Class 4, children can access the school library and they are encouraged to borrow books which appeal to their interests.

Please encourage your child to practise their spellings and times tables regularly. 10-15 minutes a day can make a lot of difference. I look forward to meeting you all and if you have any questions or concerns, please come and speak to me or Mrs Carmichael.
