Welcome to Class 4; home of The Jaguars !
Class 4’s Mission Statement
In class 4, we will endeavor to have 100% attendance and to be at school on time to begin our learning. Whilst in school, we will treat everybody with kindness and respect and listen to what others have to say. It is important that will are resilient learners by showing a growth mind-set at all times. Mistakes in our learning are valued and demonstrate how we can learn from them to challenge ourselves so that we acquire new skills and knowledge at every opportunity. All members of class 4 will take pride in our classroom and take care of our equipment.
Year 4 pupils make up Class 4. I am delighted to have all the children back in school and I am very much looking forward to our year together. In class, I will be placing a strong emphasis on the growth mindset approach to learning as part of our whole school values. I actively encourage children within Year 4 to build on their independence, by encouraging them to think for themselves and to take responsibility for their personal organisation.
Home learning is actively encouraged with the practising of times tables on TTRockstars, spellings on Spelling Shed, maths activities on MyMaths, along with games on Nessy for those who have access to it. We also promote regular reading which is essential for children to further extend their vocabulary and to experience a range of writing styles and genres. In Class 4, children can access both the school and class library and they are encouraged to borrow books which appeal to their interests. Please encourage your child to read and practise their spellings and times tables regularly; 10-15 minutes a day can make a lot of difference. I look forward to meeting you all and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
