Hello, welcome to Class 3, or the Lap Top Lions which is the name we have chosen for ourselves this year!

In Class 3 we have both year 3 and year 4 children. They are all given work that is appropriate to their ability but are also encouraged to work with confidence and have a go at all challenges given to them, even if they seem tricky at first. Perseverance is widely rewarded with house points, chance cards or maybe even a certificate in the weekly Excellent Learner Assembly!

The half termly newsletter  gives details of each half terms topic and can be found on the website. It outlines the learning objectives to be covered across the curriculum and the different opportunities that we will give to children to cover these.

Home learning is actively encouraged with the practising of weekly spellings that are personal to your child.  MyMaths has many games and activities for the children to practise their maths skills at home and when appropriate is linked to our learning in class.  Regular reading is also essential for children to further extend their vocabulary and to experience a range of writing styles and genres and we encourage children to read their reading book at home as well as books by different authors to extend their reading experiences. A grid of activities linked to the current topic is given to children in their homework folder each half term. They can complete as many of these as they wish and we always love to see any finished creations in school.

Finally, if you wish to speak to either Mrs Wright or Mrs Marsden about any aspect of your child’s education, please do not hesitate to call in after school.
